Our Work
Our work focuses on channeling awareness and energy around racial and criminal justice reform into policy change. We research policy, reach out to elected officials, and rally awareness and support around key issues.

Policy Research
We've been researching policy recommendations at 3 levels: policing, the courts and incarceration. With the help of those that have walked this path before us and the people directly involved in both the community and the criminal justice system, we’ve formulated a roadmap we believe in. There is a path to realistic and meaningful transformation (see Big Picture). We plan on going viral, harnessing and steering the current collective energies of concern/protest, and channeling them toward creating a justice system we can actually say is just.

Policy Outreach
One of our key values is a faith in our power as citizens to shape democracy to the will of the people. We achieve this by contacting and lobbying elected officials at the state, local, and federal level. We are in touch with representatives regarding a range of racial and criminal justice issues, with our current focus being a dramatic reform of Qualified Immunity.

Events
Just Policies hosts events meant to raise awareness and bring people together around changes that need to be made around racial justice and the criminal justice system. During the pandemic this has meant mostly webinars. Past webinars have touched on topics ranging from segregation and red-lining, activism and art, and the challenges food deserts pose to Black and Brown people.
